Catching Up With Prisoners in Wikipedia

I made a tiny edit to the "Prisoners" entry in Wikipedia on Tuesday evening.  The edit that I made is gone, but someone added some more information to the article since then, about types of prisoners:

While this article is still far from comprehensive, the edit got someone's attention.  Maybe we should all add "stupid blue Smurf" in any Wikipedia article that we find inaccurate or incomplete, to keep them honest.  :)

  1. Thank you Rachel for this post. I have had series of information found on Wikis that I doubt the credibility. Credibility of any source of information is a key to true knowledge. Wikipedia article(s) should always be cross-referenced any time for accuracy sake.

    1. Hi Taiwo,

If the information in a Wikipedia entry about a human population is thoroughly cited from scholarly journal articles, government documents, and the like, it could be OK. You can also click on the "Talk" tab of the entry to find out how it ranked on different quality scales. Wikipedia editors do rate the entries, and state what is wrong with them...sometimes they are even more critical than we are!

      Sincerely,
      Professor Wexelbaum
